| Did you know almost 85% of women say that they find it hardest to lose weight from the lower abdominal area, the hips and thighs. This largely comes down to the fact that women are genetically predisposed to store fat in these areas to aid the body during pregnancy. The L250 targets fat and cellulite around the hips, buttocks and thighs, by stimulating circulation to these specific areas during treatment. |
As you lie down in the L250 device, this treatment is the perfect solution for someone who has not exercised for some time, someone who is not a fan of intense cardio activity or someone who has recently gained weight (e.g. during pregnancy).
The central component of the L250 is the ergometer encased within a vacuum chamber. Programmed by a fully trained and experienced operator, the vacuum pressure is set to a rhythm which best suits each individual’s physiological requirements.
Whilst gently cycling, the low atmospheric pressurised chamber artificially stimulates blood supply to the fat tissue around the hips, buttocks and thighs, where it is enriched with fatty acids. The programmed vacuum interval then accelerates the transport of blood to the muscles being exercised. |
|
| During the 30 minute program, fatty acids are transported directly from the problem zone and consumed by the body as fuel for movement. In this way, the L250 promotes circulation, tones the skin and diminishes fat in the desired, hip, buttock and thigh region. Empirical studies show that L250 users can achieve up to three times greater circumference loss around the hips, buttocks and thighs than that achieved with conventional exercise. |
Hands up those who suffer from stubborn fat deposits or cellulite? Don’t feel alone! Australian studies suggest that up to 80% of women and 45% of men are dissatisfied with their body. In many instances, this frustration stems from an inability to lose weight in certain areas despite a healthy diet and vigorous exercise regime.
Localised fat deposits and cellulite are the result of our genetic predisposition to store fat in certain areas of the body. Most of us have an unevenly distributed circulatory system – which means that blood flows more readily in certain parts of the body than in others. This phenomenon is known as “fat patterning”.
Blood is the vehicle for transporting oxygen, nutrients and fatty acids throughout the body. Therefore, blood plays a crucial role in burning fat. If blood supply to a part of your body is limited, then it is harder for your muscles to source free fatty acids from this area to use as energy. Put simply, fat burns more readily in the parts of the body that have strong blood circulation than in those with poor blood supply. This fact explains why many of us find it difficult to eliminate fat and cellulite from certain areas of our body despite a dietary regimen and high level of physical activity.
So why does HYPOXI work? Hypoxi’s founder, Dr Norbert Egger, recognised that if he could stimulate blood flow to a specific region of the body, he could accelerate the rate at which fatty acids were metabolized in that region. He also acknowledged that physical activity is critical to burning fat. Dr Egger and his team of physicians therefore set about to create a device which coupled exercise with a therapy which could increase blood flow to certain parts of the body.
HYPOXI is revolutionary because it is the first scientifically developed treatment proven to manipulate the body’s own circulatory patterns to accelerate fat loss in targeted areas of the body. In fact, independent studies have shown that HYPOXI clients lose up to 3 times greater circumference in the targeted area than that achieved with conventional exercise. |
IS HYPOXI PAINFUL? No, it is completely non-invasive and pain-free. Many clients comment that the alternating pressure in the chamber creates an invigorating feeling on the skin. The horizontal position in which the treatment is administered in the L250 and HDC takes pressure off the joints and lowers the client’s heart rate so that the experience is more likened to spa therapy than a form of exercise.
CAN I USE HYPOXI IF I AM NOT VERY FIT? Hypoxi training is designed for men and women of all fitness levels and ages. Throughout the treatment, your heart rate and skin temperature are constantly monitored. HYPOXI training does not require any particular degree of physical fitness and is perfect for someone who is thinking about getting back into exercise for the first time in years. You will be required to complete a client information form when you attend your studio, as there are certain illnesses & conditions which preclude people from undertaking treatments. If in doubt, we recommend you speak to a medical professional – your safety is paramount to us.
HOW MANY TIMES A WEEK SHOULD HYPOXI BE UNDERTAKEN? AND HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS? For optimal results, Hypoxi training should be undertaken 2 to 3 times per week for at least 4 to 6 weeks. Thereafter, you might talk to your consultant about undertaking a maintenance program. Training sessions take approximately 30 minutes based on the individual assessment you are given by your Hypoxi operator.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? Training should be undertaken in loose fitting gym pants, a t-shirt and joggers. Bring a gym towel with you also.
HOW DO I COMMENCE A COURSE OF HYPOXI TRAINING? Initially, you will need to book into your closest studio for a consultation in order for a therapist to assess your requirements and objectives.
